Brett,

Sounds like classic symptoms of a blown needle/seat. You should be able to
pick up a new one for the 32/36 from Dynotune in Belco and even Autopro at
Belco have a fair collection of weber bits.

regards
Terry

Subject: RIP Weber

List,
I have a downdraught weber on an L18 and today as i was driving the car
started coughing, as i slowed for the lights the car started dying. I kept
it going but only with lots of revs and when i did this smoke started
pouring from the exhaust. i've checked the oil and water and there is no
caramelisation (like wen you blow a head gasket) but even after the engine
is stopped the carbie floods itself almost dumping the entire contents of
the float bowl into both barrels of the carbie. it cant be the idle as i
screwed it way out so that the car wont go close to running because of the
lack of fuel. i am also running a standard mechanical pump. the car has only
just made it hope though it was mis-firing all the way.... if this sounds
like a problem anyone els has had with a weber or just a datto please let me
kno how to fix it whatever.
sorry to go on but the car had been running really nice until today.
thanks if you can or cant help.
ps... i'm in canberra... do dattos hate canberra?
brett
