I've noticed the same thing with Optimax lately too, pinging that is so I wonder what they've done to it - may be a summer formula or something. I tipped in a bottle of 104+ and it stopped pinging but that stuff is exy. I have run Vortex for the past 4 or so tank fulls with much better results. I was of the opinion that it wasn't as good as Optimax but at least I can use WOT with it when the temp is above 25 degrees. One thing I have noticed with Vortex is the engine note is distinctively different when the cam kicks in - not sure what this means though, bit it sure has plenty of power so I'm not complaining.
