That's
a very familiar scenario. My oldest just turned 17 and had this idea that he
wanted a turbo for his first car, he's got a good amount put away but no regular
income to speak of and still in College. I gave him Shannon's ph number to check
insurance as he wouldn't believe me what it costs these days. He had the hots
for a SR20DET Silvia, how does $4000 to insure it grab you with an excess
that would make your eyes water, $800 with $1200 excess for the NA Sylvia which
is more in the ball park. All they did is double the excess on my insurance
while he drives mine on L's which is pretty good but it changes when they go
solo. It's a bit hard for boys until they turn 21 to get affordable
insurance, girls can get turbo insurance far cheaper - go figure that
out?
