Make sure you buy the solvent one ,NOT the water based one..
I brought a toyota 4wd a few years back rusted out,,It was cheap,I panel glued it up ,boged it repainted it and sold it for a packet,Now that was about 6 years ago,and it is still driving around today ,I see it about 1 once a month driving past ,and I must say it still looks good...
Make sure you sand/grind the rust off with a disc grinder using 40 grit paper, this also give the glue a good footing.
I have before pop rivated to make sure the panel hold and after the glue has dried ,I grind the pop heads off and bog the holes(which also keys the bog)
Try this get a old rusty car with a reather big rust hole,Make a panel,Prep it and glue your patch on,what a week or two grind out your pop rivats and bash it with your biggest hammer,
You will be surprized on what happens..(you get a dent)

What sort of money are you looking at for the panel glue to bond the
reinforcing section over the rusted rail? If I went this way I would
want to make sure it had the strength to do the proper job, not just
get the thing past rego.

passenger side, which should be OK if you clear all the rust/
undercoating etc.. and have it ready to go. Might pay to
