Mark.

I would take a punt on a broken compressor seal if there is a tiny bit of smoke haze at constant revs, otherwise I would say stem seals.

Subject: smokey?

hi,my turbo l20 efi 1600 is blowing smoke at idle.

 this is what happens:

i start it up and its chuffing a bit of smoke, i rev it up andwhen i  hold the  revs at a fairly fast idle, there is no smoke, but when i let go of   the accelerator, it starts to blow smoke as the revs die down. and contnues to blow smoke at dle.

any clues? valve stem seal? rngs? any tests  can do to check?

mark k
