I went to Car Torque (68 Kembla Street, Fyshwick  62808067) today and was discussing brakes for 1600's. I mentioned that I wanted to go the Z31 300zx Disc/ 4-runner caliper combo on the 200B strut. They were quick to advise that while thier was a good selection of pads for the 4-runner caliper, it was going to be a very heavy set-up.
[Terry Rudd]  I agree about the weight, supposed to be very good brakes though. The Z31 disc has 81mm centre hole, 200B has 73mm so I'm wondering how to get around that small problem.
 
  I then told him that I could not find good pads for the 200B early or late calipers. He told me that you can put the Commodore pads straight into the 200B calipers. EBC greens are $160 retail. I think that this is the end of the pad selection nightmare for 200B caliper users.
[Terry Rudd]  Which model Commodore? DB? I often wondered why you could get Pagid pads for a early 200B and nothing much else, may be they are Commodore pads.
 
  I just have to get some early 200b calipers and swap them for my later ones. If anyone has any input, throw it in!!
[Terry Rudd]   You need early callipers and discs, you can't mix early and late 200B, also Sumitomo callipers only fit early struts/discs.
 
Are all 200B discs the same size?
[Terry Rudd] No, early are bigger and different offset.
 
Could I bolt 200B calipers onto 270mm 240k discs  to get a bigger disc.
[Terry Rudd] Yes, with early 200B callipers only and it's been done many times, C210 also use a DBA316 disc.
 
Would I have to use the 240K strut, or can I put the 240K discs on the 200B strut??
[Terry Rudd] You can use 240K/C210 discs on the early 200B strut.
