Nick, The reason for that law is for this system to be safe you need to have 3 things, roll cage, harness and helmet. If you have one without the other (maybe with the exciption of the helmet) it becomes unsafe. For example, if you have a full cage without a helmet or harness you are likely to crack your head open on a cage bar in an accident, also it is unsafe to run a harness without a cage because if you roll the car and you are straped in an upright position your going to get crushed. So the only safe way is to have all three and I seriosuly doubt the road athorities are going to pass a law where a full cage and harnesses are ok as long as you wear a helmet!

Do you mind if i ask how much it cost? BrownDavies
has quoted approx $1100 fitted, welded and painted for a standard 6 point with
documentation for a log book which i thought was good.
