Forget the factory coolers, they're too much of a compromise of space or
cooling efficiency.  Mine is little on the small side BUT it will support up
to 200rwkW at its absolute most.  To me, that's a heap of power.  Basically
its a 37mm thick K&J core.  Dimension wise, I would look at having the total
size of the cooler(tanks and all) about the same as the radiator cut out
with a little less height because of where the bonnet catch is when the
bonnet is closed!  I think mine is about 240mm high.  I got it especially
had and I didn't have to relieve stuff all metal from the car.  Just grind
back the lip on the bar that runs in front of the radiator cut out.  I paid
600 bucks to get it fully custom built and it took about 3 weeks.   Mark at
Western Suburbs radiators in Sumner Park(Brisbane) was the man to talk to.
He knows exactly what he's on about, specially considering he was the one
who built all the interccolers for Todd Wilkes's horsepower hero's cars.
