You don't even have to pull the engine out to re-ring a L engine (Repco
Hastings CM PN 2C6872 - need to check bore). An ACL VRS (DD614/6MT) from
Repco or Supercheap are $80 or so, always replace the valve guide seals on a
L head (included in VRS), rings are a bit more exy ~$110 (trade price) last
set I bought, you'll need a sump gasket, oil/filter/coolant etc - ~$250
should just about do it.

regards
Terry

hi, they shoud be available just about anywhere,( rings).
you should be able to pull out engine, rering it,and put it back in the
same day,.
ii wouldnt bother changing the bearings or whatever, if ts just smokey,
and not making any noises , just put riing s iin.
