Leighton,

The very first model 1200 coupe (late 70) has drum brakes and low back seats i.e. no headrests, disc brakes came in early '71. Piece of cake to change the brakes in them but you have to change the struts as the drum struts in a 1200 are a real prick to fit discs to (been there once and learnt this one). Stanza etc with late 200B callipers and decent pads are a cheapy with good results.

regards
Terry

In all the specs i can find of a the datto 1200 the coupes are said
to have front discs brakes well i have found one at a wreckers that has
drums on the front???   is it something that has been changed or is it that there are coupes with front drums  just really old or something?

hmm any way im thinking of grabbing it cos its only cheap - i thought it
would be cool to do one up a bit????
