Isn't the number the diameter of the crown wheel, ie R200 = 200mm? The R230 (which are monsters and weigh like 50kg) would be a Nissan 9"!
I think the newer ones are made by Fuji Heavy Industries (which is Subaru's parent company) but older ones I don't know. A lot of Subaru's have R160 LSD diffs including WRX's. There's two types of R200 LSD's, short and long, and only one type fits into 1600's. One day I'll get around to finding out if you can use the Skyline/Silvia LSD centres in an older open R200, since I have one that I pulled out of a 260Z (usually they come with R180's so that one wasn't original) Cheers, - Tom James Cox wrote: > Hello list, > > Can someone explane the whole diff story? are R160s R180s, R200 diffs > etc made by nissan or some other company? if the latter, are they > also found in non-nissan cars? > > Also do the designations mean anything? is a R200 rated at 200kg of > tourqe or somthing? > > Lastly, what cars came out with R200 diffs and more specificly, LSD ones. > > Thanks, > > James Cox > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: > http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
