Nat, You can fax me a copy of the 200B wiring diagram on (02) 6123 6470. This is my e-fax number so you can do it at anytime as it wont be lying around on a fax machine.
Intermittent wipers work by activating the wiper "park" circuit which is low speed on a 1600. Also, a 1600 wiper motor is "hot" wired and the switch just earths out the circuit you select i.e. low or high speed and the park circuit is on the low speed side. The park circuit is built into the wiper motor circuitry and has nothing to do with the switch. If you add an intermittent relay to a 1600, it activates the low side for a fraction of a second or so to start a single sweep to start up the park circuit i.e. it just simulates you pulling the switch to low until the wipe starts and pushing the switch back in, it's that simple. The park circuit in a 1600 activates somewhere between 75-100mm into the sweep, so the relay is a special jobby with an accentuated contact time which is usually accompanied by an audible click. It has to be a dual pole relay as the off position still connects the earth circuit back to the low side of the switch so the switch operates exactly as it did before the intermittent relay was fitted. If anyone knows how a 200B wiper system works eg hot wired or earth wired etc it would be helpful for me to figure out how to adapt the 200B switch to a 1600. From memory the washer part of the 1600 switch is active and therefore the washer motor is supplied power to operate, it's just a complication. The intermittent wiper relay I used has a squirt 5 times and wipe for 5 times like the modern day systems, pain in the bum on a 1600 with the mixture of earth and positive circuits running through the wiper switch so I left this function stock i.e. turn and pull the switch. Also, Nat, do you have the intermittent relay off the 200B. If you don't then we still should be able to work it out without the intermittent function, but it is a nice feature to have. I'll check out the wiring on the 1600 and identify what wires do what, and wiring colours etc. regards Terry -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of nat P. It's starting to drive me nuts!!! I have a 200B diagram and a 16 one and they have the same coloured wires so I had a wack and nothing! I've just been told that I need to run a relay for the intermittent wipers! And I've also managed to confuse the hell out of myself! I can I fax you a copy of the 200B wiring digram? You might have more luck! Cheers NAT I can't even figuyr out the wires on the 1600! They just don't make sense! HELP ME!!!!
