The engine in a GTA looks like a old merc engine,nothing like a L as we know
The one I have seen raced at Bathurst in the mid 60's and still has the factory triple carbs.
 
The engine is OHV.
C10 and C110 and Z432 were the only Nissan to have the S20.

I think the GTA/B used a G7 engine which was the for-runner of the L series. I think this is the engine that is reputedly a Mercedes copy although having seen the two engines side by side they are totally different...like the manifolds on the Merc are on the other side of the head.

The GT-A and GT-B were model designations of the Prince Skylines of the mid 60's.  These cars didn't use the S20 engine (to my knowledge) but a SOHC straight six which looks a bit like an L6.
