The current V8 Supercar control tyre is a Dunlop 280/680 R17,
whereas up til last year it was a Bridgestone 285/40 R17. Does
this illustrate your point on how sizes are quoted differently, but
overall the same info? As I take it the Dunlop tyre spec is quoting:
Width/Tyre_dia-Construction-Wheel_dia
While the Bridgestone is quoted as:
Width/Aspect_ratio-Construction-Wheel_dia
