Mark, Give me all of the wiring colours. The VDO is a sensor type tacho so it will have something like red, green, white, black - 3 more wires? I've wired a few of these in my time but can't remember what all of the wires do - has it got a shift light or some sort of memory functions?

Also, i can only see 4 wires coming out of the stock tacho, two go to the coil, and i'm guessing the other two are power. The VDO tacho on the other hand has 7 positions for wires to join! There are two black knobby things sticking out on each side that each have two female connectors on them, and then there is a panel with numbers 1 to 8 spots where more connectors could come out, but only 2,3 and 4 have connectors there. Basically, i have no idea what wires to hook up to where, so any tips would be great :) my friend seems to remember all 7 connectors being hooked up to something, so i'd say i might have to run a few more wires to somewhere - i just don't know where !!! Any help would be really appreciated!
