Terry - thanks for the input
Yep, no change on first notch using the dipswitch - I wasn't aware 1600s 
had used the dipswitch in reverse nor that having parkers on alone was 
uncommon. (my last 1600 had 200B or similar switch gear in it so I 
wasn't familiar with standard set-up) - so as it seems it's almost in 
full 1600 working order I'm not fussed about fiddling around with it. 
Having the car come back from the panel shop the inner and outer 
headlight plugs had been reversed and the horn switch turned on the left 
indicator - so it was mild relief to discover just a few replugs fixed 
things up after suspecting the car wiring was up to shit since I had 
bought the car "as is".
