Mark, Not a problem about the gauge wiring, I didn't realise the significance until I tried to figure the dip switch anomaly. Your tacho and oil pressure gauge lighting definitely is not the cause as that's the correct way to connect gauge wiring on a 1600 and how Mr Datsun designed it to work. The other gauges could have something to do with it though, their lighting is obviously powered from somewhere that's not standard, do they come on when your ignition switch is on Aux or only Ign. you're probably going to discover the park light problem by accident when you've got the dash out - I wouldn't worry too much about it as it's not illegal or anything - bit of a bugger if you just want to park somewhere dodgy where clearance lights would be handy - or evening photo shoots (-:

I put in the tacho and oil pressure gauge which run lighting from the clock plug as you previously recommended. Boost/water temp guages have lighting which comes on with the ignition - they were already in the car when i bought it so I don't know the detail - simply switched power from ignition position "II" I think. My car is running Haltech and N12 ignition barrel so there's a few non-standard variables here. On Sunday, August 25, 2002, at 12:56 PM, Terry Rudd wrote: > sure what that does to our theory.)
