RE: FJ tensioner query

Leighton,   You grind off the big rubber foot thing. You will be left with a little cylinder like the original tensioner. Then you push it all the way in and put a small pin (allen key maybe) in the hole to keep it in. You then install it and pull out the pin.   The tensioner never resets. As the chain stretches it will continually move out, but it will never fall out. That's how it quietens the chain.
