Ben.
First I would like to say.
You have asked about a rim size no one on this list has ever had the need to use.
Hense the reason no one can answert your querie.
What the list has done for you is answer there recomendations.
It will be a waste of money buying 10" rims for a datto.
It deffinatly will make it unprdictable.
The money you are wasting (or thinking about Wasting) could be better spent giving mr
Pirelli about 1/4 of that money for a decent grippy set of tyres.
I have 195/65 14's and I have no need to go any wider in tyres or rims to fit them on.
These tyres are as grippy as you can get.
I may be a liitle biased towards the pirelli's but others on this list may have some
other recommendations on what a good tyre brand to go out and buy would be.
I do know one of the worste traits of the design of a 1600 in my eyes would have to be
the fact they understear very easilly.
I have never had this problem with my Pirrelli's.
Last bit of advice I can give you is.
Go for tooo much grip on the rear you will kill yourself.
You will do a stupid thing like try to throw yourself around a corner with full power
only to find the front end let go and throw you into a tree, a powerpole or even worse
a innocent drivercoming the other way.
(No matter what tyres you buy for the front they will never be able to outsteer a 9"
rear rim and tyre package)
There is years and years of Datto experiance on this list both circuit racing and off
road stop acting like a holden owner and thinking bigger is better listen to us on the
list and keep the 7".
P.S you do not see many race cars with stupid size rim and tyre packages anymore.
Technology has designed better and better tyres to do the job these days.
Good luck with sorting this subject out.
I hope you do take advice but I guess in the end it is your call.
I just hope you don't kill some innocent person due to your ignorance.
Rick White.
