Urgent-Temp and oil pressure questions?
Kris,
I pulled the coil lead off and turned her over
till I killed the battery that was on charge, hopefully that woulda oiled up
the cam.
Oil filter and oil will be on Sunday, this will
be the first chance I get to do it.
Hopefully all the oil would of moved around
enough to have the gunk fall when I drop the oil out by then.
165-175 Farenheight, on a cool night seems
alright then.
I wasn't watching the oil pressure guage like a
hawk this morning so it might of gone up to 54-49.7PSI.
I don't know, I will keep a eye on it on the way
to TAFE today.
So all up she seems to be running fine by the
guages I guess, will be good to get the old AVGAS out of the tank
and fill her up with fresh stuff.
Thanks for the info.
Very much appreciated.
Later.
Rick White.

Hi Rick,
Sorry to hear about
the wagon!
My manual says 180F (thermastat opening),
with the oil pressure, it only has PSI or Kg/cm2 ;
Idle = 14.2 - 17.1psi (1 - 1.2kg/cm2)
Running
= 54 - 59.7 psi (3.8 - 4.2 kg/cm2)
Sorry they are not in Kpa, i don`t know the
conversion.
I would change the oil and filter (if you
haven`t allready) as it may have a bit of water from condensation and
hopefully you oiled up the cam etc. as it would`ve been pretty
dry.
Good luck,
Kris.

Urgent-Temp and oil pressure questions?
Hi there guys and
girls,
Due to some sad circumstances my
wagon is off the road, so I finally had to pull my finger out and get the
SSS 510 of mine running again.
So I can keep on going to TAFE till I
sort out the wagon.
I will update you all on what has
happened to the wagon as soon as I work out what happened, I do not know
myself at the moment.
Anyhow the SSS hasn't been running
for over two years, maybee three years ? she had a noisy water
pump.
I bolted in the water pump at 1am
this morning and wow she started first time, my question is what
temperature in farenheight should she be running at normal temperature,
165 to 175 Farenheight???
And what oil pressure should she be
running 45 Kpa ??
I don't want to damage her, hense the
questions.
Thanks in advance
guys.
Rick
White.
