The turbo you mention would work fine and has plenty of scope for
improvement.I'm curious does this bolt up to the L20et manifold as i thought
they were t3 bolt pattern or has it been modified to suit t4 or is the
turbine housing a t3.I have seen a sandwhich plate that bolts to the manifold
between the turbo that can have a small external wastegate bolted to it.You
can also sometimes weld an adapter for an external wastegate straight onto
the manifold just depends on the quality of steel the manifold is made from
or weld it straight onto the turbine housing.The new turbosmart 32mm external
wastegate retails for around $500 and if you know someone who is an agent for
them you can probably pick one up for about $150 less.If the manifold is a t3
pattern then it would probably be easier to get an internal wastegated t3
turbine housine with wastegate and actuator.
