Subject: DATSUN named to be revived by
Nissan Japan
Ozdators,
An interesting article from a
Japanese website got sent to me today - it looks like the real thing. The name
DATSUN was as popular in Australia and New Zealand as in any other countries -
we should remind Mr Ghosn of that fact.
The thing is do we want the Datsun name
revived?

TOKYO — Nissan Motor Co will
revive its old brand, Datsun, at a yet-to-be-decided time as it is an
important asset, the major Japanese automaker's president, Carlos Ghosn, said
Tuesday.
Datsun was adopted by various Nissan cars in the 1960s,
especially those sold overseas, and became a popular brand particularly in the
United States. Currently, Nissan uses the brand only for a pickup truck model.
