What they want is the hydrogen gas given of during charging to be sealed of from the passenger compartment and boot and vented externally from the car. The most common way to do this is use a marine batery box and some foam and silicone sealant.

Its a primary safety item with a rear mount battery unless you have lots of rust holes in the boot :-).

I think they will want the battery sealed off from the boot (and therefore the cabin) and vented to the atmosphere outside.

Sounds easy, but will be harder to do in practice.

I have one of those plastic battery boxes which will be very hard to seal because the lid has raised bit to clear the cables. May have to make a new lid and run the cables through the side of the box?

Hi Mark,

Check out boating and marine places, they sell pretty good boxes for
cheap. The use of the words "seal" and "vent" seem to fight each other,
how do they want you to do that? Some big grommots could be used to seal
the cables I suppose.
