Hello and let me introduce myself. My name is Lach MacLean and I have been a mechanic for 30 years (or so!). I have been involved with Datsuns/Nissans since 1974 when I worked for a guy in Canberra called Gerry Ball. We used to produce Australia�s best rally cars at the time. I�ve since worked for the Ford Rally Team (yeah, I know), so I know my way around comp vehicles.

What I want to know is, have any of you done a SR20DET conversion into a 720? Mine is an �86 720 Dual cab with the SD23 diesel. I have sourced a front cut from an 180SX and before I commit myself, I would like some comments from anyone who has attempted this.

One issue I can see is that the 720 has front steering and the engine is a front sump. Can the oil pan be turned around?

Any comments would be gratefully accepted.
