hi, as long as the cmpression ratio isnt something stupid, the std starter should be okay...my bro use to have a 302 windsor with 10.5 to 1 and the starter turned over normal.
in the starter there is a bush in each end to support the armature, if one of these bushes is worn enough, the armature can touch the feild coils that surround it. ( there is supposed to be a air gap around the armature), then the starter will turn over sluggish, and it will seem like the battery only lasts 15-20 seconds or so..might be worth checking ... mark k ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuey Roberts" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, February 02, 2003 1:45 AM Subject: Starter motor question > > > Hey listers, i have a question to ask all of you.
