Thanks Thomas,

What are the brakes like - good feel, dead? awesome? what pads did you use?

Mark,
Spring perches are a piece of cake to change over with the right tools (like
most things), and yes there is welding involved. R30 struts must be similar
to Bluebird 910T and S12 Gazelle as they both use the DBA612 10" vented
disc - i.e. piece of cake to fit to a 1600 with the spacers under the
balljoints. I've looked it this before, someone in NZ used 910T struts in a
1600 and he said it was a bolt in with the spacers. I wonder why more of us
don't do this? It's got to be easier than the Mitsui/VL turbo thing, but the
good thing about that combo is always going to be pad selection - i.e. you
take your pick as it's Holden(together). I wonder if these spacers are
legal, I just can't figure why not popular - could be the wreckers aren't
full of S12 Gazelles?

regards
Terry

Mark and Terry, I performed the r30 strut/r31 brake upgrade on my 1600 a few
weeks ago. The spring perches on an r30 strut are actually the same as on a
1600 strut and don't require modification. Thomas.
