Mark, Good voltage doesn't necca mean that there is enough amperage to start an engine, good voltage alone wont do it. If you have a voltmeter (or multi-meter) hook it up and take a reading when you try to engage the starter. Also what happens to the dash idiot lights when you hit the starter - if they go dim or out altogether, then I suspect that the battery isn't as good as it seems. Got another known good battery to try out?
