I used to run castrol 20/50 synthetic i my turbo L series mainly because
of the turbo. I pulled the motor down after 60,000 hard miles running up
to 25psi and being constantly reved to over 7000rpm.The crank, bearings, camshaft, rockers
were all in perfect condition. At one stage i put some mobil synthetic in
but it was to thin and oil pressure come right down when it was hot.
