Mark,

Most ppl fit 1600 springs on whatever struts are used but always check that
the springs are captive. We also use 180B offset insulators where possible
to give a bit of camber adjustment but 1600 items are fine. 240K insulators
are 12mm thinner than 1600/180B but to use them on a 1600 you have to
elongate the holes in the strut tower slightly (there's always a catch if
you want to use the good stuff.) If you use the same springs and insulators
on struts that shorter than the originals, then you will lower the
suspension height by the same amount as the difference between the old and
the new strut lengths. The preferred struts are basically anything other
than rally beater 71+ 1600 11.5" items unless you're into dirt work.
240K/200B/180B struts are all around 10" region, and don't forget to
consider brake calliper bolt spacing before you choose which strut to use.

regards
Terry
