guys

thanx for the replies

The reason I ask about the steering is the fact I need to replace the spear coumn which also means replacing the box.

As I am doing this I will most likely upgrade to the 200b column and controls. With this in mind should I juts use a 200b or 180b box?

any ideas?

I am using the datsport front end so i dont really have a problem with bump seer or camber and castor.
I will of course replace all the front end buses which have not already been replaced.

So what sort of box do you guys recommend considering what I have written above?

cheers

Hey Tim
Rick summed it up pretty well. Have a look at the angle of your lower
control arms with the car on a flat surface. They should point down from the
cross member to the wheel NOT up!. Commonly when a 1600 is lowered too much
the lwr control arms end up pointing up.... remember this is from the cross
member end..
How to fix it???
Don't chop ur springs so much!!!
Errol sells a very nice bump steer spacer for racing which fits between the
strut and the lwr control arm and that would definitely fix the problem but
I don't think they are legal for the road????
I have the same problem with mine and its very annoying. You really have to
concentrate to keep it in a straight line.
Camber and castor changes will help but spring/ride height is what its all
about.
Maybe some one else out there has some better cures for this problem.
100! ! mm min road clearance Tim?
Cheers
Mick
