Don't start me up again on using struts with zero scrub radius in a 1600 just because you get decent brakes and no bump steer as a bonus. I'd suggest you drive a 1600 (or try to) with R31 struts fitted before you believe they're the ducks guts (personal opinion only). Typically in my experience a good handling 1600 has scrub radius of around 2.5" or more!

so using a kit such as a datsport one which takes care of the suspension and steering geometry thus getting rid of bump steer probs.
using r31 struts which have a better scrub radius than the stock 1600 struts on stock suspension and steering and using a steering box brace along with say 6.5" or even 7" tyres with a suitable offset would be the best option for good steering response, handling and braking etc?

assuming a good wheel alignment?

cheers
