Yup. Pain is shelling out a numerous wads of $50's here, there and everywhere over and over again for parts & other various go-fast niknaks.
The other side of the pain is the time it takes to do silly little tasks like removing rust, repairing rust, straightening panels, painting, stripping down cars, re-assembling and so forth. But in the end you soon forget the pain, bruised & skinned knuckles, frozen & burnt fingers, late rent and starvation when you can hop in your datto, turn the key and hear it purr. What else are you supposed to do with your money, could be worse, waste it on wild women and beer...
