An LZ18 N/A runner was sold a little while ago for a historic rally car for nearly $22,000 OZ.
I know Les Collins is doing one up for a customer at the moment for a 710SSS George Fury 76 Southern Cross replica rally car that would be costing the same money or more. He said the engine would be an outright winner in 2 litre and under sports sedans in a suitable vehicle. "Only the Peugeot super tourer would give any grief as it has a sequential box". Robert Thompson's Motec injected LZ20B in the 510 under 2 litre sports sedan was unbeatable. Mine will eventually be rebuilt as an LZ20BT after I get over the money haemorrhage. These engines were used in the Tomica R30 group5 silhouette car of Hoshino and The "White Lightning" S110 Silvia coupe. Both so much loved in Japan. These were known as "The cars with long flames" : ) due to the anti lag turbo killing, (ignition cut = raw fuel dumping into turbine) practice common then. http://plaza7.mbn.or.jp/~free/rs-photo1.htm I just managed to buy the correct rocker cover for the LZ20BT engine. Also they ain't makin no more! I just love the sound of them at full song. And I will now get to drive with one.
