The crown wheel ID on the R160 is 80 mm. On the R180, crown wheel ID is 92.5
mm.

If you made up an 80mm id ring with OD of 92.5 shrink fitted to the LSD you
could do it. You would have to do something with the carrier bearings as
well, as the r160 is narrower. All to much trouble I think.

I think you may be able to fit the R160 LS centre to the R180 crown wheel.
Check if the bolt up pattern is the same.  If it is, you would then need to
centre it very carefully, perhaps by turning up a ring with outside dia.
equal to the inside Dia. of the R180 and inside dia equal to the outside
size of the R160 LSD. Get it?
Use the ring as a guide when bolting up the LSD to the R180 crown wheel.
Perhaps even fix the ring permanently to the inside of the crown wheel and
make sure it cant come off.
