Ryan,

Years ago, I put retractable belts in one of my 1600s. Rather than weld
in the plates, I got the plate, welded the nut to it along with a bit of
coat hanger wire. I pulled the head lining back and poked the plate down
the B pillar and bolted it all in. No heat stress on the body and the
nut/plate can't turn because of the shape of the pillar.

Subject: things to think about???

hey guys,
well time has come. just bought my self an sr package.
and probs gonna get some body work done, and a respray.
whilst im at it, is there anything else i should think about whilst the
body
will be stripped?

even little things like getting brackets welded into the door pillars so
i
can put in reclining seatbelts, welding up the whole for the gearbox and
re
cutting it to suit the new gearbox. things like that?

as some of yous have been through this before, i bet yous have come to
do
something and gone, shit! I wish i would have done this before hand to
make
things easier etc. its all those things id like to try and find out
before
hand, rather than go 'oh shit' myself.

cheers guys.

ryan
