P610 SSS have the same brakes as the Japanese spec P610 Deluxe so what you
have would be fine, the Japanese spec 510 & 610 even had the same size
discs. A cheap disk upgrade for fronts that used on Aussie 1600's is 200B or
810 elsewhere but you need to run 14" wheels in most cases but it's well
worth the upgrade as long as you can get 195/60x14 tyres. The 200B struts
also lower a 1600 by around 1.5" if you use 1600 springs with the 200B legs.
There will be a lot of info on the Ausdat archives (I think they are
working, been a while since I've been there).

A road test that I have of a stock factory 510SSS did 1/4 mile in the 17's
when new and had a top speed around 105mph, a stock L16 run 18's & top speed
around 100 mph. The 510 Deluxe had a 3.7 final drive but the SSS had a 3.9.
Both had 4 speed gearboxes with the same ratios. The Deluxe weighed 925kg
and the SSS weighed 970kg. That's about all I can tell you other than track
specs etc.

regards
Terry

Mohit,

The simplest upgrade for your 510 would be sourced from a Japanese spec
180B(SSS) (P610) as you should have them at Fiji.

You don't use an Aussie master cylinder if you can help it. If you have
front drums then the first thing you do is upgrade to discs.

Terry

Hey all,

I'm in the middle of upgrading the brakes on the 180B SSS, and need to
upgrade the master cylinder.

I'll email details of exactly what I'm using for brakes once it's finished,
but I am going to need at least a 1" master cylinder.

Is there a 1" that will bolt straight on? The biggest I know of is 7/8.

Has anyone gone bigger than 7/8 on your 510/610, and if so what did you use?

thanks!

Ben
