hi, been there done that.....  as far as i can remember, u jack / lift the
emgine up as far as it can go.
undo all the  sump bolts, then i think u have to remove the  oil pickup, let
it drop in the sump, then u should be able to manuvere the sump
out..............
i think u also have to remove the engine mount(s) cause the sump will need
to be moved around.....
i think also on  one l series where i dropped the sump, i couldnt quiet get
it out , so i just put the sump all the way to one side , did me thing then
bolted it back up.
