It's also an out dated plan.

With the wrecks register up and running the donor engine may have come
out of a recent stat write off meaning it will set off alarm bells and
you will be required to fill out a stat dec as to how you acquired that
engine. Also don't forget that a blind man can tell the difference
between an L20 and an L18 block. As Jeff says your third party
insurance will be voided as well.

It's a lot easier and less stressful to simply get it approved. It's
not like it's the only L20 powered Datto in Oz.

Regards
Brad

hey, its a very cunning plan

but your car will still be illegal so if you have a crash & kill someone
etc then your mods will be illlegal & you wont be able to argue that
they had no impact on your vehicles stopping performance etc.

so even if you pull it off you probably should still sort ot the proper
paperwork etc.

cheers Jeff......oh shit do i sound like your mother now :)

I doubt it. They just looked at the rego sticker and took the number
from that on my car. My 1600 was already rego`d ( not engineered but!!)
with the L20B but they didn`t pick it up. I went to Greensborough
Vicroads and told them i have changed my engine number and need it
recorded. I DIDN`T tell them it was a capacity increase and some how got
away with it.
No forms to fill in, nothing. They just wrote the number
down and gave me a new sticker. If you do this you will need a receipt
for the motor before they will change it. Don`t go to Burwood Vicroads
as you will have to fill in a form asking it`s capacity.

Get your RWC first to remove the Canary then if you do the above, do it
a different day.

Kris.
