at a guess would think that it would be the computor trying to sort out a
faulty sensor.   apparently faulty exhaust O2 sensors are main cause as ecu
tries to rectify the too rich/lean mixtures.      Sons v8 with shot rings
ran like a dog.    Was fueling up at idle, then run lean.   Just kept
swinging either way until it stalled.
I think an O2 sensor only has a life span of about 60,000 k's.
