They already know exactly WHO is WHERE at any given time. My mobile phone knows where it is, it tells me on the screen. It's gotta work both ways i'd imagine.

Best way to avoid trouble is be a very boring person in the eyes of the government. :)

If that scares you think about the little GPS unit that lets the government track you everywhere that you go.....

Actually, i'm a bit suss on these new cars.
How's this for a conspiracy theory:

Take for instance a brand new commodore. The car is programmed to tell you when to take it in for a service, and a little spanner comes up on the dashboard until it gets to the mechanic and is zapped with the gizmo to say "Yes it's been serviced"
What's to stop the car manufacturers from programming the car to run like crap when it's in need of service, and once the gizmo is plugged in, the car goes back to running perfectly. They simply change the oil, filters, etc.. Give you teh car back, and you go "wow, it's running heaps better, that was worth the $450 I just paid"

Makes you wonder doesn't it?!?!????

I know what's wrong with it.

Take a good hard look at the badge on the front of the car. :)

nah, its a pretty basic setup.
start it in any position heh.

yeh the mechanic has tried everything. but i thought one of you guys might have had the same prob.
he was saying its basically a camira setup engine..  and it doesnt have a proper AFM, it does it some other way.

im not sure if it has an electrical distrubuter,  but its probably safe to say it does lol.

the weird thing was, i asked him if it was runing on two cylinders cause thats what it felt like, and he said it was,  but it was never the same two, it was kind of alternating. which is just weird.

the new comp didnt fix the problem. so i dont know what else it could be.

my day driver, a little crappy daewoo hatch (got it dirt cheap so im not complaining) has been in the shop because the engine was playing up.  the shop its in is pretty much the best mechanic in town im told. but no one can figure out whats wrong
symtoms are,  stalling.   if im driving along on the high way, and i put the clutch it,  once the revs drop (cause the clutch is in its basically idling) it wil stall,   you let the pedal out and it will roll start itself.,    idleing in general at traffic lights etc,  it will stall.

then recently its started bunny hopping. and it feels like its runing on two cylinders.  in between each surge, the stall light will come on, if i let it sit there in neutral it will keep doing it, and if i put soem gas on it, it will do the same but the surgesget faster.

does anyone have any idea whats wrong?  the mechanic replaced the comp, fuel filter... etc etc i think he's done everything, but no one knows whats wrong. any ideas?

its that first model they sold in australia, the 1.5i.    same as the opel kadet.
