What I did with the one I wired in the wagon.

Is right next to the fuse box there is a large white wire going into the
fuse box.
Disconect that, run a wire from each side of the two terminals to the two
white wires in the tacho, it will now work.
next is to wire the lighting on it, I just found the extra plugs under the
dash (which was easy for me as I had to remove the clock) the two other
wired plug straight into that.
All Done.
Hope that is easier??
