Depends on what sort of tacho it is - impulse type as in Nissan factory runs
off positive, most aftermarket types run off negative (on a negative ground
car).

The difference it makes is one way the tacho works, the other way it don't.

I ran mine off the negative coil - because the auto elec hooked it up like
that!
