Rick,

The GL came in the combinations you describe - Lennocks had their own GL
that had a Clarion pushbutton radio, tacho, radials and the trim upgrade -
pretty much what you call the sports pack. This is what the 5/72 GL that I
bought new from Jason Datsun in Wagga had also - and some chrome bits along
the sides. The stock GL had the small clock and Dunlop Guardians - one could
never forget the experience of driving on those tyres.

regards
Terry

It sounds like you have the factory tacho dash fitted to some Aussi models
in 1972. If you bought a "GL" you could get either the "luxury pack" (read
big clock face and trim upgrade), or the "sports pack" (read Tacho in lieu
of the clock and radial ply tyres)! Is my memory correct Terry?
Hence the "Tacho Dash" varient of the normal dash.
There are not too many of them around, but they are not as rare as either
model of the 1600SSS dash, which you can see on the Ozdat picture gallery.
They have distinctively different dashboard designs.
