Mohit,

I think all you do is remove the L16 crank, rods, pistons, bore the block out 2mm and fit the L18 crank, rods and STD pistons. I believe 2mm is the maximum you can go in an L16 but you should get the block sonic tested to check cyl. wall thickness before boring out.

L18`s have the same stroke as L16`s but the pistons are 2mm larger in diameter.

L16 and L18 blocks have the same deck height while the L20b is about 19mm taller.

Hi Mohit,

Ill preface this by saying that I have never touched a 4 cyl L engine.
According to
http://home.att.net/~jason510/Motorspecs.htm
The pin height on the L16 and L18 engine is the same, with different rod
lengths and different strokes. It lists the L16 and L18 pistons as
having different dish ccs, with the L16 having a smaller dish. I guess
that means that you dont need to press the L16 pistons onto the L18 rods
depending on the compression ration you want. Can anyone confirm or deny
my crap bench racing guesses? :)

 Hi list,

just some info on stroking L series engine's.i have a L16 eng and we use L18 stoke on it.ok what all should i use from the L18 eng.i think the crankshaft and conrods.is that rite.

if that is so then i have to press the L16 pistons out and press in the L16 pistons on L18 conrods.

ok how about i rebore the L16 block too fit in STD L18 pistons on the L16 block.will it work this way.

need answer ASAP.have a nice day.

 Mohit.
