Errol,
Something I have for got to say is the engine I have had made to
put back in is bigger than what I had before the car came off the
road for full rebuild..
Z24 crank and rods a flat tops..isnt what it had before.
Engine I was using at 7500Rpm in 4th (top) was a Jap L20BSSS block
with a L16/18SSS A87 head (They are the same) ,A87 flywheel,locked
dizzy, and the custom 40mm webbers and race headers as the pic's I
have sent you before..
3.7 diff ,, 195x60x14" ,, dont that work out to be about
147Mph?.at 7500Rpm..at 1:1..
I think I'm right as in also to say you have not seen a set of
headers in ozzie like mine....They make a very big difference..4-1
long headers as most are short..I have four pipes going under the
floor pan going into one under the feet of the passenger then 2"
all the way..one muffler (little) right at the rear.
I'm hoping that the car goes faster with the Z24 stuff,,It will be
coming out if it ant,,
I can get a VG30DETT complete with 5 speed for a $1000nz and
thinking hard about it.(but thats losing the L buzz, which I dont
really want to do)
A mate of mine has a 1965 ford with a 460 (factory) the 510 purly
wasted him but that probley weighs 2 ton,,anther mate with a few
harleys also owns a 68 camaro (plus 57 chev's and R/T
chargers, jags plus more),,he was not keen for a race to the west
coast for ownership papers of the camaro after going for a drive
in my 510.
I would love a 68 camaro..
I also know for a fact that ozzie made Holden Police cars are slow
very slow in fact ,,easy to lose even on a straight road..
I also belive that my Nissan Leopard V8 is great for a family car
,,but I still think the 510 would blast it from the lights for
sure and leave it in the hills..
I think I have sold the Leopard,,,I have a bank cheque from
Scotland ,,for a lot of money ,,Just hanging to see it if
clears..A lot more than Chris told you a couple of years ago for
sure..I think I told him about $20K, I have a cheque for what
works out to be $69K NZ.
I dont belive it that much as I still have it at work in the
drawer ,,very nice to look at ,, thinking now ,,I should go to
work get it and scan it...Anyone what a pic of the biggest cheque
I've ever seen for a Nissan..
I should really bank it... or send it back?? it is a nice car to
drive...but it is a lot of money....but they only made 179 of
them...Its a lot of money...
?????????????
Malcolm

        Mal,

At 8000 rpm with this combination, the friction loss from
bearings and rings totals 67 hp and the pumping losses are an
        additional 32 hp.

Piston speed is over 5000 ft/min.

This type of engine is a dead loss over about 5700 rpm, mainly
        due to high piston speeds.

        Cheers

        Feral Errol
