Mohit The 260Z brakes are the same as Datsun 240K brakes. However the strut from the 260Z is smaller in length. The top mount is a different design and wont bolt straight into the 1600 strut tower. You could build and adaptor plate to fit the 260Z struts to the top mounting location. The Z springs are small in diameter and do make it possible to widen the wheel rim width inwards, as well as locating the top mounts futher inward and to the rear, giving more negative camber and caster. The 240K struts bolt straight into the 1600 strut towers, are approximately the right length, and hence hight in the car, (and have the same brakes as the 260Z).

I'm informed on the OzDat forum they're R31 Skyline...makes sense since it's bolt spacing matches older 240k struts. Am I correct in describing the Sumitomo as double piston i.e. single opposed one each side and is this providing better braking that the R31 with a single piston? my current calipers: http://www.netspeed.com.au/mark/4sale/brakes.jpg On 02/10/2004, at 6:43 PM, Jeff Oldham wrote: > commodore maybe ? > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Mark > Sent: Saturday, 2 October 2004 1:42 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: curious to know what these calipers are from? > > > Hi all, had these calipers sitting in my shed for a while and I want to > fit them to 240k struts with 253mm disc - is it a bolt up job, do I > have to be concerned about pad area and disc size? > I don't know what these brakes are, they have know name on them just > numbers cast into them, bolt spacing is 3.5" which matches my 240k > struts (at least that's what I recall 240k struts as being).
