Yeah but apart from a few things:
1. I am a mechanical nuff nuff
2. I have 3 spare B30 engines, plus another in a parts
car
3. Whole Volvos can be had for $100, and one sold on
Ebay for $7.50 a few weeks ago
4. Volvos are very strong and stand up well to
rallying
5. I'm not racing anybody in particular, I want a car
that will finish rally stages reliably and cheaply!
6. It came complete with Volvo brakes

V8... Hmm
If
it's got a separate chassis to the cab, then the engine you can drop in legally
is pretty much limited only by your imagination / wallet.
I'd be
looking at twin turbo 1uzfe if the budget permits it.
Mwahahhaha.
