I should add that I used the lpg switch to trigger a relay which in turn powered the fuel pump.

I made up a device a while ago, and Terry gave it a test for me to do this. It was microcontroller driven so you could do some trickier things like have it run for x seconds when you first turned the ignition on then stop until the motor was turned over, run on for y seconds after a stall. If anyone out there wanted I could try to track down the code etc for it, but the LPG switch thing seems like an easier option.
Out of curiosity Terry, is it still running/being used?

an LPG switchamajig will do it. I forget the real name but you will find it attached to the negative of the ignition coil in old LPG cars. I have used it with success. Got the tip from Errol of course!

CAMS is bringing in a rule this year where all cars running a fuel pump
have
to have a system where the fuel pump stops pumping fuel when the engine is not running. I think the test will basicly be you stick the car in first, let the clutch out with you foot on the brake so that the engine stalls. The fuel must stop pumping within a short time ie 30 seconds.
Anyone got any ideas for a simple way to do this on a carburetted engine ? (i think most fuel injection systems have this built in ?)
