R180 diff into 1600

hey there guys, im having trouble getting my r180 into the 1600, i cannot 
get it to fit in position due to the spare wheel well, is there a trick to 
putting the diff in, ive tried  left and right angle, also put it in upside 
down and put it in half way then tried to spin it, didnt work. How have 
others put them in, i dont want to drop the rear end cradle if i can help 
it.........
