Why don't you use a drop saw with one of those 7 or 9 inch (I forget the size) angle grinder wheels.
Dunno about where you live, but power tools are absolutely dirt cheap in Sydney, Just go to Bunnings and you can buy brands like GMC and Ozito for peanuts.
